Saint-Jacques huge shell of concrete, the Auditorium since 1975 imposes its silhouette in the heart of the Part-Dieu. Designed by Henri Pottier, Grand Prix de Rome, and Charles Delfante, chief architect of the Part-Dieu, it was the first room of France built without pillars and prestressed concrete. The work lasted three years. Upon opening in 1975, the hall (2150 seats) was unanimously for its comfort and ideal for the report form of the Roman theater created between the plate and the public. From 1993 to 2002, the Auditorium was the subject of an extensive renovation and acoustic technique. Thus dressed of nine, also with a beautiful night lighting, it offers the public a sound setting to enjoy the pleasures of music.
