The Centre Pompidou-Metz is an art center located in Metz, between Park and Seille station. It is integrated into the operation of the redevelopment area of the Amphitheatre, next to the Park and the Palais Omnisport Seille Arenas.
Its creation is the first experience of decentralization of a public culture, namely the National Centre for Art and Culture Georges-Pompidou in Paris. Seen as fundamental element of the new district of the Amphitheatre, it opened May 12, 2010. The architects Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines. The client is the urban community of Metz Métropole in partnership with the Centre Pompidou. The city of Metz is an agent of the owner. The project is also funded by the city of Metz, the General Council of Moselle, the Regional Council of Lorraine, the State and the European Community. The building is achieved by the construction company Demathieu & Bard.
