Bazoches Castle, the first built in the twelfth century, is located in the extreme north of the department of Nievre in Burgundy, France. It is an interesting example of civil architecture of the seventeenth century.
The castle dominates the village Bazoches Bazoches. The castle, we find the first hint of the Morvan south of Avallon. Beyond the village of Saint-Père, known for the restaurant's chef Marc Meneau, "Hope," lies the "inspired hill" of Vezelay.
