The castle of La Ferte-Milon looks like a stage set romantic. Its wide façade of 104 m wide and 20 m high on does nothing ... The reason is quite trivial: construction work ordered by Prince Louis of Orleans, came to an end with his death in 1407.
This castle was to be one of the greatest ever made, witness the magnificence and power of the prince. Incomplete, it would still suffer the assaults of the war and time, leaving only ruins.
Strange Castle by the way, still holding the fort, while foreshadowing the arrival of the Renaissance. Thus, the two towers that frame the entrance are equipped with a spur, for increased resistance saps, and at the same time, they are pierced with large windows, contrary to the defense of a medieval fortress. The fortress became a palace.
