Eglise Saint Etienne le Vieux

Esplanade J-M Louvel - 14000 CAEN

The foundations of the parish church of Saint Etienne date back to the Old priori in the tenth century. Exposed along the city walls, it was rebuilt after the seats of English 1346 and 1417. Ruined th 1944, the building retains an octagonal lantern tower of the first half of the fifteenth century, backed by the bedside, an equestrian statue of the early thirteenth century representing the Emperor Constantine.
