Originally envisaged in the direction of Saint-Gilles-sur-Vie, the station "Croix de Vie - Saint Gilles" was built in 1881 near the port of Croix-de-Vie to carry such cargoes of fish to Nantes.
It is closed during the Second World War, and again between 1970 and 1982 in the absence of regular lines.
The station is called "Saint Gilles - Croix de Vie" in 1885 and is famous "Cross of Life - Saint Gilles' work in 1934 after traveling to a new building that Saint-Gilles-sur-Vie has not funded .
In 1985, she took the name "Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie", eighteen years after the merger of the two municipalities.
