Lake Aiguebelette, which means "beautiful little water", is a natural lake in the Avant-Pays Savoyard in the French Alps.
Located about 10 km from Chambéry (Savoie) as the crow flies, Lake Aiguebelette, with an area of 545 hectares, is the fifth largest natural lake in French, from Lake Geneva, Lake Hourtin and Carcans, the Lake Bourget and Lake Annecy. Bordered on the east by the Chain of spine culminating in Mont Grelle 1425 meters to the west by Mount Tournier, its maximum depth is 71 meters. At first glance, it is characterized by its color is often green, while the Lake of Annecy is bluer and Lake Bourget usually steel gray.
The Lake is shared between five common riparian: Aiguebelette, Lépin-le-Lac Saint-Alban-de-Montbel Novalaise and Nance. In the southern part of the lake are two islands surrounded by reed beds.
