Established in 1967, at the initiative of CNSV (National Committee of Remembrance Verdun) under the aegis of the Academic and veteran Maurice Genevoix who was then the President, the Memorial de Verdun is now one of major European museums of the Great War.
A collection of many personal items and objects called "craft trenches" to evoke the life and martyrdom of the men who have experienced the most tragic episodes of the First World War.
The National Association of remembrance also offers field trips, to discover the remains of the field of the Battle of Verdun.
