By creating a museum in 1858, the town of Saverne showed interest and willingness to keep on-site historic site "objects that reflected the size and length of Saverne." These included, first archaeological discoveries made near Saverne, many fragments of carved stone discovered by chance during construction or building houses or during the drilling of the canal from the Marne to the Rhine in 1845 as well as paintings from the churches of Saverne and the castle. The rooms are devoted to Louise Weiss for understanding the beginnings of European political projects while discovering cutting-edge that it supported between 1919 and 1934 in his review of international politics the New Europe: Franco- German first projects of European Union and League of Nations.
