Dr. Faure, lived in Aix-les-Bains and spent the rest of his time in Paris to his true passion: painting. It is a large collection of one hundred works, mostly landscapes and nudes, most of the impressionist school. Bequeathed by Dr Faure in Aix-les-Bains and presented in the villa "The Chimera", this collection is now the richest province in a museum of Impressionist painting. In the museum you can admire paintings by Corot, Boudin, Jongkind, Cezanne, Sisley, Pissarro, Fantin-Latour, Degas, Bonnard, Vuillard, Marquet, Fougita and also a large collection of Rodin sculptures. Passionate about his work, he only bought as many as 33 pieces. The museum also presents the reconstruction of Lamartine's room, occupied by the poet in 1816.
