In 1974, a farmer who wanted to dig a well in one of his fields, fell on the base of a Roman column. Immediately, the Archaeological Society of Deneuvre began a series of excavations that allowed the discovery of the largest sanctuary of sources ever discovered in Gaul. It was found 3 pools, 2 with stone roof supported by columns, and especially more than 70 statues of Hercules, the most famous half-god of Roman mythology.
